TNO has recently drawn up a European quality standard for medical websites, which includes a quality system with which organisations can certify internet pages under external supervision. The so-called QMIC-essential requirements make up this European quality standard, which is based on all important laws, regulations and codes of conduct with respect to the internet.

The TNO trust brand guarantees visitors of medical sites that the information, communication or e-commerce found is safe and reliable. A page with the TNO trust brand not only provides correct information as regards content, it also means, for instance,  that personal details are dealt with in a careful manner. The CG-raad (Council for the Chronically Ill and Handicapped) participates in the QMIC system, because it helps to distinguish which medical information on the internet is good and reliable.

E-WISE is the only medical publisher which is certified with the TNO-QMIC trust brand and is therefore at the forefront in the quality assurance of its medical information.
