Patient education and patient guidance via the internet

In a recently published WHO report poor compliance is indicated as the biggest problem for the improvement of health care. In this WHO report support of the patient with reliable information about the disorder and the medicine is called one of the main pillars of the improvement of therapy compliance. For this reason E-WISE has developed a patient information and guidance programme via the internet: Patient•Point.
Patient•Point consists of an on-line knowledge centre and a guidance programme in the form of newsletters for which patients can apply on line. At critical moments during treatment the patient receives newsletters with the support that is relevant at that moment. With Patient•Point the patient always has the right information about a medicine at his disposal.

Patient•Point is the only programme to have been certified by the Dutch Knowledge and Quality Institute TNO with the QMIC trust brand (Quality for Medical Information and Communication) which guarantees that the information is objective and reliable.
